Position Summary
The Director of Alumni Relations oversees and manages all aspects of alumni relations. Working closely with the Institutional Advancement team, the Director will develop, implement, and evaluate programs designed to foster effective alumni engagement, communications, and to increase support for Holy Cross School and to encourage involvement of graduates in the life of Holy Cross.
This is a twelve-month, exempt position with expectations of working additional hours as needed, including evenings and weekends, to support all school needs.
The Director or Alumni Relations reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement and is a member of the Advancement Team.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with relevant professional experience required.
Preferably a graduate of Holy Cross School
Exceptional leadership, managerial and organizational skills
Excellent ability to build, foster, and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with Raiser's Edge NXT preferred.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Establish, monitor, and evaluate the strategic plan for Alumni Relations in order to develop annual and long-range goals and objectives designed to engage alumni in the life of the institution.
Create, implement, coordinate, and evaluate alumni engagement activities, involvement and fundraising and friend-raising efforts working cohesively with the Director of Institutional Advancement and the IA Team.
Use existing tools to extract, update, and load Alumni data (including current Holy Cross Seniors) from external sources into the database of record (Raiser's Edge NXT).
Provide clear and concise information within appropriate timeframes to the IA team including dates of all Alumni related events.
Develop and prepare highly segmented reports and mailing lists according to a high-volume, time-sensitive production calendar.
Serve as the school's liaison to the Alumni Association, Men's Club, and all alumni.
Strategically identify, recruit, and engage a diverse group of alumni volunteers to serve on the alumni board and event committees.
Identify constituent groups of alumni and design programs and activities that will serve each constituency.
Initiate programs and activities to serve local, national, and international alumni.
Co-lead all alumni activities, including but not limited to reunions, academic and athletic events for alumni, and special events working directly with IA, Events and Communications teams, and Alumni Association.
Maintain the alumni calendar and coordinate with the school calendar relative to alum events.
Coordinate Career Day with the Director of Student Activities and Guidance Department.
Attend and prepare reports for IA staff meetings.
Participate in training as needed to perform duties.
Supervise, mentor, and develop Alumni Team using a supportive and collaborative approach.
Organize and oversee the Alumni Board.
Assist Communications Department with preparation and editing of alumni social media and website.
Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned.
