SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Assistant Director & Communications Liaison at the Catholic Cultural Center of New Orleans (CCCNO) will work closely with the Executive Director to lead communication efforts, manage volunteers/docents, strengthen donor relations, and serve as a primary onsite presence at the Old Ursuline Convent Museum. This role will drive and coordinate communication campaigns to build relationships with local, national, and niche press. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for maintaining communication with Cultural Center members, Cathedral parishioners, and campaign donors to strengthen goodwill and promote continued philanthropy. This position will develop and execute compelling written and visual communications across print, website, email, newsletters, and social media platforms. The Assistant Director will ensure cohesive, timely, and impactful messaging to support the Center's progress and growth. The individual will collaborate closely with colleagues within the Cultural Center, the Archdiocese, and external partners to ensure consistent messaging and coordination. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, a thorough understanding of the Center's mission, as well as the campaign and professional conduct, are essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and drives the communications strategy and calendar, in consultation with the Executive Director.
Creates written and visual communications for the Center, including content for the website, newsletters, printed materials, and social media. Manages the website and social media accounts.
Manages all Center volunteers and docents, coordinating schedules and training. Works with the Executive Director as a primary onsite contact for the Convent Museum, including opening and closing the facility on weekdays and some weekends.
Oversees donor relations for the campaign.
Coordinates special member events both on and off campus, working closely with staff and third-party consultants to ensure successful execution.
May be required to attend night and weekend events related to the Center.
Drafts press materials, including press releases, talking points, and other communications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field is required; a graduate degree will enhance a candidate's qualifications.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, stewardship, donor relations, or related fields (including administrative and project management). Non-profit experience is a plus.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a public-facing, fast-paced environment, managing multiple teams and projects with creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
Tech-savvy, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office/Google Suite, social media platforms, and newsletter software such as Mailchimp.
Attention to detail and the ability to coordinate multiple assignments, set priorities, and work with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively and follow through in interactions with a wide variety of people, including press, volunteers, members, staff, donors, and clergy.
Professional appearance, attire, and demeanor are essential for success in this role.
Strong judgment in decision-making and handling confidential or sensitive materials. A commitment to donor confidentiality and discretion is required.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A strong understanding of and commitment to the Roman Catholic mission of the Center and St. Louis Cathedral Parish.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating engaging social media content and other forms of new media is strongly preferred.
Experience planning and executing events and meetings.
Established relationships with key media outlets - Catholic, local, and national - is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. and climb stairs easily.
Ability to work at a computer for 80% of the time.
