The Boston Catholic Development Services Department is currently looking for a Temporary Donor Relations Coordinator to join their team. The Donor Relations Coordinator is responsible for the operational day-to-day data entry, maintaining accurate donor records, and processing donations received from various events and appeals sponsored by BCDS, ensuring that all gifts are processed accurately and timely. The role is responsible for reviewing cash receipts, pledges, and database information for Boston Catholic Development Services. The Donor Relations Coordinator is also responsible for providing donors, parishes, Finance, and other institutions with biographical and financial reports from Raiser's Edge. This position will interact with staff in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under time constraints, while maintaining flexibility and efficiency. Attention to detail is imperative. This is a Temp Full-time position for 6 months. This is a temporary, full-time position for six months and you will need to work at the Pastoral Center in Braintree.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process and review all donations received in the form of cash, checks, credit cards and stock from various clients using the functionality in Raiser's Edge.
Work with gift officers to coordinate appropriate gift designation.
Maintain accurate donor data. Add or update constituent records as needed.
Understand all aspects of the Catholic Appeal cycle: mail dates, donor materials, training materials, and reporting.
Provide customer service to donors and parishes. Respond to and resolve all inquiries within 48 hours, either by phone or email communication.
Follow all gift processing policies and procedures. This includes meeting deadlines, time management, multi-tasking, and prioritizing workflow.
Maintain a neat and orderly filing system of donor transactions, whether paper or electronic.
Serve as a liaison with internal Finance team, banks, lockbox agent, and other vendors to ensure proper controls are in place to serve our donors and parishes.
Research and help to resolve issues related to transactions.
Assist with reconciling credit card transactions. Run and review various departmental reports.
Assist with general office duties and mailings for events and solicitations.
Escalate change in procedure or high-risk transactions for proper documentation.
Ensure a strong understanding of Raiser's Edge through self-paced and classroom training. Train and cross train staff as needed.
Assist with Raiser's Edge database cleanup by identifying duplicate records, deceased donor records, correcting, and updating, as directed.
Interact in a positive and professional manner with staff and visitors at the Pastoral Center.
Act as a team player by assisting other BCDS teams with projects as needed.
Ensure compliance with Donor Bill of Rights and Standard Fundraising Code of Ethics. Escalate issues as necessary.
Other duties as assigned, including various administrative tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years' experience in high-volume processing and donor database management.
A self-starter with excellent organization and communication skills.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong time management skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work independently, and keep organizational priorities clear.
Proficiency and experience with computers are required with a strong understanding of Microsoft products and other database programs. Experience with Raiser's Edge is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively through e-mail and/or telephone.
Strict adherence to confidentiality of data.
Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church.
PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:
Ability to use a computer/keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
