Saints Cyril & Methodius Church in Corpus Christi, Texas, is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Administrative Assistant in the parish office. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the office internal operations. The Administrative Assistant informs and consults with the pastor on all matters relating to functions and operations of the parish.

The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church ("the Diocese") entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.
Duties And Responsibilities

- As an integral part of ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Continuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
- Work as part of the team with other parish and school employees to carry out the mission and achieve the goals of the parish
- Greets visitors and answers the phone politely, directing calls and guests to the right person or area. Ensures a professional office atmosphere and helps keep things running smoothly
- Works with the Plant Manager to ensure the church, meeting rooms and other buildings are well-maintained and ready for use
- Notifies pastor of all sacramental requests, and records all sacraments and funerals as required by the Church's law
- Prepares paperwork for baptisms, weddings and Quinceanera ceremonies, explaining the requirements to parishioners and helping them complete what's needed
- Responsible for funeral mass arrangements
- Maintain office calendar and facilities use calendar
- Prepare weekly bulletin
- Schedule mass intentions and maintain mass record book
- Maintain all parish records by data entry and/or manual maintenance and filing of parishioner record
- Post weekly tithing and prepare contribution notices for parishioners for year-end tax purposes
- Make weekly cash and check deposits, prepare bank deposits and records receipts and deposits on all income for various parish accounts and organizations daily and as required
- Use email to retrieve and send communication on behalf of the parish and maintains and updates parish social media outlets
- Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor
Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications

- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Submit to employment required screenings, criminal history background, drug screening, and MVR
- Obtain certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
- Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures
