Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Diocese of Corpus Christi is seeking a full-time Social Media Coordinator. Under the direct supervision of the diocesan Director of Communications, the social media coordinator and videographer is responsible for creating original text, graphics, and video content for the communications office and for all diocesan social media channels. The social media coordinator is responsible for managing posts and responding to followers, along with suggesting and executing creative ways to attract more followers. Also knowing how to use current trends professionally on all social media platforms while promoting the mission and values of the Roman Catholic Church and the Diocese of Corpus Christi. Engagement strategies should be aligned with the broader strategies as directed by the Director of Communications. The Social Media Coordinator will advise ministry directors on best practices and the use of their social media channels and have emergency responsibilities for diocesan social media accounts. The Social Media Coordinator is proficient in video production (recording & editing) and uses the Adobe Cloud Suite (Premier Pro, Photoshop, etc.) Canva and CapCut. The Social Media Coordinator will assist with live-streaming special diocesan events and video production. Must know, support, and advocate the Catholic Faith.

In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, the Social Media Coordinator and Videographer is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in your professional and personal life.
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
- Good working knowledge of the Catholic Church and its teachings, including holy days and liturgy
- Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content daily (including original text, photos, videos, and news) on the Diocese of Corpus Christi social media channels
- Actively pursue content of interest to audiences (i.e., events from diocesan departments, parishes, information from Catholic schools, news articles from STC, etc.)
- Research social media audience preferences and discover current trends that can be applied tactfully to our channels
- Stay up to date with current laws, trends, and changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
- Responsible for providing data when requested on analytics for all social media channels.
- Report on online reviews and feedback from followers
- Provide analytics that reflect the effectiveness of specific campaigns
- Develop an optimal posting schedule with a working content calendar.
- Oversee the design of the Diocese of Corpus Christi social media accounts.
- Develop new ways to attract prospective followers.
- Responsible for creating and carrying out Social Media video streaming.

- Assist with creating graphics and helping promote public relations events, such as World Communications Day, the Feast of Corpus Christi, BBQ with the Bishop, the State of the Diocese, etc.
- Photograph and video the Bishop’s appearances as directed by the Communications Director
- Helping to generate content for different platforms
- Assist the Communications team with content editing, graphic creation, videography, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.

Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- The ideal candidate for this position has the following skills and attributes: Experience in monitoring and directing social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube, etc.) for organizations or leaders
- In-depth knowledge of Facebook Analytics and Meta Business
- Excellent written communications skills
- Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
- Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video)
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Must be professional and courteous.
- Ability to maintain strict, professional confidentiality.
- Be able to work on outdoor events.
- Be organized and able to move at a fast pace

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Submit to employment required screenings, including criminal background, drug screening and MVR.
- Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources.
- Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures.
