The Opportunity
We are looking for Catholic financial professionals to manage a team of insurance Field Agents and Investment Advisor Representatives (IARs). As a Knights of Columbus General Agent, you will be able to provide various products in our product portfolio, including: Permanent Life Insurance, Term Life Insurance, Annuities, Disability Income Insurance, Long Term Care Insurance, and Investment products. With the guidance of the Regional Account Executive Consultant, you will help shape the future by implementing a robust sales plan and strive to surpass production targets. The Impact
The Knights of Columbus General Agent serves as a manager and mentor to lead, recruit, train, motivate, and coach. Through your effective leadership, you will be able to guide your team to exceed performance targets and increase member satisfaction.
General Agent Core Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Field Agents and IARs within their territory.
- Conduct impactful sales meetings to nurture agency relationships with key stakeholders; driving growth, profitability, and client retention.
- Partner with the Home Office to recruit and attract quality candidates to work as insurance professionals in their agency.
- Empower agents to optimize their revenue potential by equipping them with tools and information that highlight The Knights of Columbus’ unique portfolio.
- Utilize all available resources and strategies to propel growth and profitability. This will encompass: agent training, compensation structures, sales initiatives, marketing resources, cooperative programs, social media engagement, and more.
- Possess an in-depth understanding of our members needs and the market. Effectively educate agents on strategic approaches to drive agency revenue.
- Provide professional service to policyholders and their families, fulfilling the KofC commitment to charity, unity, and fraternity.
- Engage with parish and councils of the Knights they serve. Identify and recruit new members to increase the potential market for KofC insurance.
- Achieve quarterly and annual production goals including both insurance metrics and membership growth.

The Minimum Qualifications
- Knights of Columbus membership or eligibility.
- Experience in marketing, sales, customer service, and social media management.
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably business, economics, finance, or marketing) or ten years financial services industry experience.
- Five years of experience leading a team.
- Licensed agent in your resident state for life, health, and accident.
- Reside in your assigned territory.
The Ideal Qualifications
- Series 65 license.
- Prior quota bearing sales experience preferred.
- Professional Designations: CLU, ChFC, CFP, CFA, or CPA.

A Note About Insurance Licensing & Contracting Requirements

We review all of these reports to ensure that we are complying with the law regarding who may be a licensed insurance agent, and, if applicable, who may hold a Series 65 license, as well as to ensure our business is conducted properly.
The Following Are Issues Of Concern Which May Preclude You From Being Issued An Insurance License, Series 65 License, And/or From Having An Agent Agreement With The Knights Of Columbus
- Insurance License that was suspended, revoked, or denied
- Securities Registration that was suspended, revoked, or denied
- Recent bankruptcy
- Unsatisfied judgments, garnishments or liens
- Charges filed against you by any insurance department or other regulatory agency
- Civil litigation against you
- Criminal charges or convictions involving dishonesty or a breach of trust (other than juvenile adjudications)
- Driving under the influence and license suspensions (if you will drive to meetings)
Although some of these issues are disqualifying because you will not be eligible for an insurance license, in other cases you may still be eligible for a license and a contract with us depending on the circumstances.
