This full-time position manages the day-to-day activities in the Car Care Clinic (CCC). This role involves overseeing vehicle repairs for cars accepted into our program, ensuring they are restored to reliable working condition. Vehicles will be sourced from approved partners and repaired through the efforts of our committed volunteer base. The program’s goal is to provide functional and safe vehicles for both our clients and the CCEOK fleet.
Training and reporting will begin with the Director of Volunteer Engagement at the onset of employment, ensuring processes and understanding of CCEOK’s unique volunteer-centric structure is upheld.
Ministerial
· As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, it is expected that both professional and social behavior be aligned with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
· Execute duties in a Christ-like manner with love and compassion following the values and principles of Catholic Charities and of Catholic Social Teaching
· Pray daily for the needs of the poor through personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
Training Facilitator
· Instruct students in automotive maintenance and repair
· Assign work to students and be responsible for the work
· Ensure students attain basic ASE certification
Vehicle Service
· Evaluate, coordinate and manage the repairs of client vehicles in accordance with approved guidelines
· Maintain accurate records of client interactions, repairs performed, and vehicle status
· Utilize volunteer mechanics and third parties to carry out repairs
· Assure all vehicles leaving the shop meet standards set by the program and are safe for use as a client’s car or CCEOK fleet vehicle
Volunteer Engagement
· Lead the recruitment, training, coordination and supervision of a team of committed volunteers
· Encourage a collaborative volunteer environment and provide ongoing support and recognition
· Assign responsibilities to volunteers based on their expertise and program needs
· Collaborate with Volunteer Office to maintain best practices with volunteers
General Program Operation
· Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operation of the car care clinic
· Develop partnerships with vendors and community partners to maintain the program
· Track data-driven outcomes
· Maintain a clean and safe working environment
· Assure titles, insurance and other related items are in order
· Assure the security of shop, tools, and parts
· Participate in projects/assignments in support of the campus or program, as assigned
· Exercise prudent judgment in service provision and program operations
· Comply with CCEOK policy and procedures
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of three (3) years’ experience, within the last five (5) years, in automotive repair and maintenance or service advisory role
· Prior volunteer experience
· Proven ability to manage day-to-day operations
· Self-starter who can make decisions and effectively communicate with team
· Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance principles
· Strong organizational and project management skills
· Excellent ability to communicate well with stakeholders with a wide range of backgrounds
· Driver’s License
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
