Job Overview:
The School of Saint Mary is seeking a dedicated and visionary Principal to build upon our rich history, featuring long-tenured faculty and multigenerational families, and lead us into our next chapter of faith, community, and academic excellence. The Principal will serve as the educational leader, providing strategic direction, fostering a positive school culture, and ensuring the holistic development of students in accordance with Catholic values and teachings.
Key Responsibilities:
Educational Leadership:
- Set and achieve academic goals and standards for the school.
- Develop and enhance curricula to foster student engagement and learning.
- Support and mentor teachers through professional development and best practices.
- Monitor academic progress and implement interventions as needed.
Spiritual Formation:
- Foster a culture of faith and spiritual growth among students, faculty, and staff.
- Coordinate religious education programs and activities.
- Lead prayer services, liturgical celebrations, and retreats.
Community Engagement:
- Build strong partnerships with parents, parishioners, and the community.
- Cultivate a school environment that embraces mutual respect.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address and resolve community issues.
Effective Communication and Listening:
- Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Actively listen to concerns, feedback, and ideas with empathy.
- Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration.
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily school operations, ensuring resource efficiency and policy adherence.
- Manage budget planning and fiscal responsibility with the administration and advisory board.
- Maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
- Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
- Principal certification or eligibility for certification in the state of Oklahoma.
- Experience in educational leadership, preferably in a Catholic school setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Wisdom and discernment in decision-making, rooted in Catholic values and principles.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of innovative initiatives.
- Ability to collaborate with and empower teachers and honor their expertise and experience.
- Passion for working with children and dedicated families.
