Assistant Director of Maintenance
Key Responsibilities: Assistant to the Director of Maintenance who is responsible for all maintenance tasks required to maintain the parish and school facilities within the campus of St. Joseph Parish. Duties include: • Assist in the performance of all maintenance work including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and painting. • Scheduling and supervision of the maintenance staff. • Conducts periodic inspections of all facilities required by local, state, and federal laws including fire inspections, asbestos inspections, and health inspections. • Assists in the determination of the scope of necessary repair activities to include decisions related to tasks performed by in-house maintenance staff or outside contractors. • Ensures that proper procedures are being followed by custodial personnel and outside contractors. • Obtain quotes and make recommendations to the Pastor and Finance Council regarding proposed capital and maintenance projects. • Maintain records and prepare reports related to facility operations and required maintenance.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent GED with a preference for additional education and/or certifications in maintenance related fields. Five to Seven Years experience in facility maintenance required. Strong technical skills and knowledge of maintenance practices. Physical stamina and dexterity. Additional Requirements: Ability to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Pass a background check and complete VIRTUS training.
