Responsibilities
This is supervisory skilled work in the maintenance and custodial care of a group of St. Thomas buildings, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Duties also include the supervising the work of the maintenance staff engaged in the operation and care of buildings, janitorial services and grounds.
His/her job description entails assisting and ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees, and assisting in completing work orders and requests, providing suggestions for increased service and continuous improvement.
Duties:
1) Plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises personnel in the custodial care of large buildings; inspects work for maintenance of proper standards.
2) Oversee and perform maintenance/repairs for the church and school buildings, equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, paint and mechanical).
3) Works with all contractors to ensure the completion of work as agreed upon.
4) Supervises outside janitorial services.
5) Supervises maintenance personnel as assigned.
6) Ensure set up tables, cleaning areas and move furniture.
7) Ensuring the facilities are operational, safe, clean and neat.
8) General maintenance of grounds/facilities as instructed by Facilities Director.
9) Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
10) Performs related work as required.
11) Must have reliable transportation and use of your own vehicle for school/church business will be required, on occasion.
Supervisor Worker Requirements:
• Related degree from a technical college or High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Supervising experience at least 2 years.
• Proven maintenance experience.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and department officials
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Experience performing routine maintenance.
• Strong organizational and follow up skills.
• Eye for detail.
• Professional presentation and attitude.
• Ability to maintain focus while working.
• Strong time management skills.
• Must have Valid Texas Driver's License
• Must have Valid and current vehicle registration, license plates, and proof of insurance
• Must complete an MVR form for check of driving record
• Must submit mileage logs to receive reimbursements
