The Adult Education and Workforce Development Division of Catholic Charities of Boston offers comprehensive, high-quality educational services to advance and accelerate the academic achievement of youth learners who face significant barriers in their search of high school completion, viable career pathways and self-sufficiency. The Youth Education Services at Catholic Charities Notre Dame Education Centers provides youth who wish to obtain a high school diploma or high school equivalency HiSET/GED, an opportunity to complete their studies.
The Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator leads the Youth Education Services intake and outreach services for all applicants. The Coordinator plans and implements enrollment activities and ensures the integrity of the intake assessment and ensures goals are met and satisfies compliance and reporting responsibilities. The Coordinator conducts regular outreach in the community, networking with stakeholders at other community organizations and businesses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee and conduct eligibility screenings for all clients, online and walk in.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and eligibility criteria on Youth Education Services (YES) program. Refer eligible clients to appropriate CCAB programs when needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge about community resources and refer applicants to community resources as needed.
- Develop and maintain data tracking systems for intake services and produce effective program reports.
- Comply with agency policies, protocols, and case management best practices.
- Represent the organization in meetings with partners in the community and provide accurate information.
- Conduct outreach to potential clients and community partners about Catholic Charities Notre Dame Education Center YES program or services, in collaboration with program managers and team.
- Support the delivery of client orientations.
- Work is performed in a classroom/office environment interacting with students with the use of computers and other office equipment. May stand or sit for prolonged periods.
- Attendance at meeting and trainings.
- Local travel as needed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursuing a bachelor's or associate degree in the field social service or related or 1 year of experience doing intake and outreach.
- Strong working knowledge of educational theory and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and compassionately in a culturally competent manner, with students of a wide variety of backgrounds, skill levels, race, and ethnicity with varying level of English language skills.
- Professional disposition and acumen to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, employers and community resources.
- Ability to work as part of a team partnering with colleagues to provide the optimum organization service to participants.
- Strong computer and organizational skills required for program data reporting. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Zoom, Teams and other teaching/meeting platforms.
- Reliable vehicle or use of public transportation required for occasional local travel
