Mercy Centre is a program of Catholic Charities located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy and Catholic Charities in the 1960s, the program serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ages eighteen and over, in four different programs from the Worcester County extended area. The Adult Services programs have been in existence for about sixty years. We are seeking a Adult Day Program Nurse to join our team!
Primary Responsibilities: As a member of the Mercy Centre team, the Adult Day Program Nurse will coordinate the provision of health care supports and services through training, monitoring required medical services, interfacing with various health care providers and coordinating essential follow up. Coordinates medical supports including emergency treatment as required for members served. Maintains medication security and dispenses medications/treatments as prescribed by health care professionals. Completes the required medication documentation in a timely, accurate fashion. Assists in assessments, trainings, interface and coordination of care with guardians, residential providers and family members. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations. Demonstrates commitment to the team process and advocates for the members to assure the highest level of care is being provided. Responsible for maintaining documentation in accordance with Mass Health and DDA regulations to maintain health care records.
Knowledge/Experience:
- LPN or Registered Nurse Degree with a Massachusetts Nursing License in good standing, preferably with a minimum of two or more years of experience. Preferred one-year related experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Basic Computer Skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex medical services
- Have knowledge of Mass Health/DDS regulations
Licenses/Certifications:
- Maintain Massachusetts Nursing License
- Adult CPR and First aid. Must obtain within three months of hire and renew annually thereafter and maintain throughout employment.
- Must submit to a Criminal Offenders Record Information (CORI) request, a Sexual Offender Registry Information (SORI) request, a clear OIG (Office of Inspector General) check and clear fingerprinting check, which shows no offenses and maintain throughout employment
- Must complete a TB Risk Assessment, prior to hire and maintain throughout employment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for the State of Massachusetts and maintain throughout employment. Must possess and maintain vehicle registration and appropriate insurance coverage throughout employment.
