The Methuen Catholic Collaborative has a current opening for a full time experienced Collaborative Maintenance Technician. This is a 40 hour a week, full time, benefit eligible position. The Collaborative Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall cleanliness of both campuses of the collaborative. In this position, your chief responsibility is to ensure and preserve the condition and functionality of all the buildings at both Parishes. Your duties will include conducting quality assessments, performing and scheduling repairs, maintaining inventory, cleaning, and developing preventative maintenance procedures.
Primary Duties:
- Perform or oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and other building systems as needed.
- With the assistance of the maintenance/custodial team, keep up the appeal and cleanliness of both campuses, including custodial work, grounds keeping and exterior maintenance.
- Responsible for snow removal for both locations. To include working directly with plow companies and ensuring staff coverage for snow blowing/shoveling.
- Prepare maintenance schedules in line with the collaborative maintenance goals and monitoring PM compliance.
- Frequently inspect facilities to proactively detect potential problems and recommend the necessary repair or maintenance.
- With the assistance of the Business Manager respond to work orders.
- Work closely with vendors, outsourced service providers, and contractors to protect the interests of the facility.
- Maintain supplies and parts inventory.
- Assist with the development of maintenance procedures and proactive maintenance programs like preventative maintenance.
- Recommend budget items, contributing to the development of an annual maintenance budget.
- Recommend upgrades, overhauls, and other changes to major systems and equipment.
- Actively participate in projects (e.g. remodeling or renovation).
- Provide coverage for other maintenance staff when they are out.
- Check that the premises are safe and not in violation of any regulations.
- Adheres to building codes, safety codes, and codes established by government agencies and insurance companies.
- Follows facility procedures related to control of equipment and supplies within the facility. Assures that work assignment areas are clean and equipment and supplies are stored before leaving area.

- Trash - picks up daily around property
- Walkways and Entrances - ensures free of obstacles, and snow and ice.
- Parking Lots - ensures parking areas are clean, free of debris. Examine all painted surfaces and touches up all chipped/scratched paint throughout the facility.
- Maintains personal availability for on-call services. Provides weekend, holiday and vacation coverage, as needed and for emergencies and for snow removal.
- Will need to run errands with own transportation as assigned.
- Participates in facility education programs as assigned.
- Consistently works cooperatively with all staff and management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as maintenance technician with a minimum of 4 years’ experience
- In-depth knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other systems
- Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
- Able to lift up to 50lbs;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks
