St. Raphael School in Medford, MA is seeking a Business Manager to use his/her Catholic faith in conjunction with their organizational, financial, and interpersonal skills, to manage day-to-day operations for the school, assisting the Pastor and Principal with the stewardship of the financial and personnel resources of the school. This is a 35 hour a week position and you will need to work at the school in Medford.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Personnel Management
- Implement Archdiocesan human resource and personnel policies, including benefit policies, for staff and volunteers.
- Oversees implementation of the guidelines and policies of volunteers.
- Assist the Pastor and Principal with the development and execution of the annual teacher contracts
- Financial Management
- Prepares annual reports, interim reports, and other miscellaneous reports as required.
- Develop annual school budget in collaboration with the Pastor and Principal
- Handles bank relations to include management of accounts and problem solving.
- Manages bookkeeping functions including, but not limited to, payables and receivables and other revenue and expenses of the school.
- Reconciles monthly bank statements per RCAB policy.
- Staff liaison to School Board.
- Oversees the management of school financial records.
- Manages payment of salaries and benefits as directed by the Pastor and Principal.
- Develop annual tuition budget and set next school year tuition rates and policy in collaboration with the principal, director of admissions, tuition manager, and pastor
- Buildings and Grounds Management
- Manages custodial maintenance functions.
- Oversees security for the school.
- Acts as a liaison to local government agencies as required.
- General
- Oversees computer and database management for the school.
- Attends meetings relative to the role as necessary including diocesan business managers meetings, School Board, etc.
- Directs purchasing procedures for the school.
- Participation in ongoing professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in business, accounting or related field with 7+ years related experience or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 yrs. supervisory/management experience preferred.
- Must support the teaching and mission of the Catholic Church.
- Experience handling confidential, sensitive, timely and critical matters using good judgment, tact, respect and discretion required.
- Demonstrated experience in finance and accounting; Intacct experience preferred.
- Knowledgeable about safety and security issues.
- Knowledgeable of human resource issues including policies, procedures, selection, benefits, federal and state laws.
- Experience administering payroll.
- Demonstrated experience in appropriate computer technology skills; must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A strong service orientation is critical.
