Accountant - Parishes and Grammar Schools
Reports to: Director of Compliance and Parish Accounting
Function:
The Accountant undertakes various responsibilities connected to the operations of the Parishes and Grammar Schools within the Archdiocese of New Orleans. This includes tasks such as compiling and auditing accounting records, reconciling accounts, and preparing monthly financial statements.

This role demands a proactive individual capable of managing multiple responsibilities independently and collaboratively within a team. The ideal candidate should possess:

Dedication to delivering high-quality work,
Fundamental knowledge of GAAP Accounting, and
Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) and QuickBooks.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience, with a minimum of one year of prior experience in bookkeeping or public accounting, and proficiency at an intermediate level in computer skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Input and finalize payroll entries in accounting software
Record monthly recurring entries accurately
Manage accounts payable invoices and facilitate cash disbursements
Conduct reconciliation of balance sheet accounts (including bank accounts, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and loans)
Generate monthly financial reports
Prepare 1099 forms as required
Aid parishes and schools in comprehending their financial statements
Offer assistance and address queries from parishes and schools
Support other assignments and special projects as directed by the Director of Compliance and Parish Accounting

Pay: Pay Range $47,000 to $55,000
