I. POSITION PURPOSE
The assistant to the pastor provides administrative services in support of the pastor, serving not just one parish but the entire parish family.
II. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Performs administrative functions for the pastor, parochial vicar and other staff as assigned.
Fields calls and appointment requests for the pastor.
Maintains the parish calendar, pastor’s calendar, and vicar’s calendar, processes messages, invitations, etc.
Serves as a communication link within the parish family for its staff members, parishioners, committee members, vendors and others who may be visiting or calling the parish.
III. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Serves as backup receptionist as needed.
Attends workshops as appropriate and provides general assistance as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Flexibility to prioritize duties and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently at times.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
