Status: Exempt, Full Time
Salary Range: $77,712 - $97,140
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. Candidates are paid at the minimum of the salary range or no higher than the first quartile of the salary range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, and other department needs.

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining a timely and accurate month-end closing process, reporting, and implementing strong internal controls in accordance with Best Practices. This position will work directly with cross-functional departments within ADLA.
Essential Fucntions
Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.
Transactional
- Reconcile bank accounts and record payment applications.
- Perform monthly close activities, including, preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and depreciation/amortization.
- Perform monthly/quarterly/annual financial data fluctuation analysis.
- Cross train with other accounting team members on back up accounting responsibilities
- Highly responsive as a service provider to cross-functional departments and external parties.
- Perform ad hoc assignments, as necessary.
Compliance
- Assist with 3rd Party independent audits.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s internal control framework.
- Identify/implement process improvements in accordance with Best Practices
- Maintain company policies and procedures and desktop procedures documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or actively pursuing licensure, preferred.
- 3+ years of related work experience
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Understanding of authoritative accounting guidance, and its applicability to not-for-profits organizations, is a plus.
- Internal controls and fraud risks.
Skills in:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (MS Excel)
- Proficient with a mid-tier or large ERP system, preferably Navigator
- Experience with Power-BI or similar systems preferred.
Ability to:
- Collaborative “Hands-on” professional
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong Interpersonal communication with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels, both externally and internally
- Communicate effectively, written and in form.
- Multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail and an ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Physical And Environmental Requirements
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs.
- Ability to sit for sustained periods of time daily, stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach above and below shoulder level, push, pull, grasp, or twist on an intermittent basis.
- Utilization of keyboard, phone equipment and other office equipment
- Exposure to office environment level of noise, temperature, and lighting
