JOB SUMMARY:
Valley Catholic High School is currently seeking a full-time Dean of Admissions for the 2024-2025 school year. The Dean of Admissions is responsible for representing and marketing the school to prospective families and the community in order to bring in new students and retain current students. This includes managing the entire admission process and events from initial inquiry to enrollment to integration into the school. This position provides the opportunity to expand skills and truly grow in a community environment. The Dean of Admissions will drive results through a strong work ethic and by consistently doing what is needed, when it is needed - to enroll mission-appropriate students into our school.
Detailed Job Responsibilities Community Engagement and Outreach:
- Visit local middle schools to promote Valley Catholic High School
- Develop relationships with feeder schools in the Portland Metropolitan area
- Develop a marketing and communication plan to generate student inquiries
- Plan and coordinate an annual Open House in the fall
- Conduct tailored admissions events throughout the school year
- Recruit, train, and oversee student ambassador program
- Work with new families to integrate them into the school
- Maintain and improve school relationship with families
- Coordinate and manage re-enrollment process for returning students
Admissions Process Management:
- Communicate clearly and consistently with families regarding admissions updates and deadlines.
- - Schedule and host campus tours and “Spend-a-Day” student visits
- Maintain open communication with prospective students and families to answer questions and encourage applications
- Coordinate and proctor High School Placement Testing for prospective students
- Secure and track necessary documentation for applications
- Communicate admissions decisions to applicants and encourage them to enroll
Data Collection and Program Evaluation:
- Collect and share data regarding admissions, enrollment, withdrawals, inquiries, applicants, and attrition
- Maintain statistics regularly, to be communicated to the greater school community
- Creative process review and improvement
International Student Recruiting, Admissions, & Enrollment:
- Manage the fulfillment of the school’s international student enrollment and retention goals
- Build and maintain relationships with international agency representatives, SEVP representative, and other involved parties
- Stay current with Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) guidelines in order to support International Students and manage the school Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)
Marketing & Communications:
- Work with Principal and Academic Dean in creating positive prospective and current parent experiences through tours and events
- Partner with SSMO communications office to publish school marketing materials, both print and digital media
- Update school admissions webpage information regularly
- Actively participate with the Portland-area Catholic Schools Admissions Consortium, including attending quarterly meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and work experience in a related field such as sales, fundraising, marketing, media planning, advertising, strategic planning
- Experience within education or a true passion for working within an educational community, preferably in admissions
- Must be comfortable with nontraditional work hours; evenings and some weekends per month are a must
- Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel) skills
- Strong work-ethic, must be a self-starter
- Must be goal oriented and driven to accomplish defined objectives
GENERAL INFORMATION:
- - Salary Range: For the current academic year, the VCHS Dean Salary Schedule ranges from $74,099 - $99,726 per year based on years of experience and level of education.
- The Dean of Admissions will oversee Admissions Office and respective staff
- This position is classified as a Regular Full-Time Exempt position; employees in exempt positions are expected to work as many hours as their job responsibilities require, which could include evenings and weekends as needed.

- This position will begin work on/about August 1, 2024, to prepare for the school year and is to be completed in accordance with the published school calendar as instructed by the school’s administration.
