Title: Director of the Annual Fund and Events

Located at the corner of East 185th Street and Lakeshore Boulevard in Cleveland, Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School (VASJ) is a Catholic High School, sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland and The Marianist. The school is a college-preparatory high school that provides lifelong learning that inspires our students to develop the confidence necessary to succeed in a diverse, competitive and changing world.
Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Director of Annual Fund and Events shall be responsible for establishing, implementing and managing the annual fund giving for the school. The director will focus on building a year-round plan for a successful Annual Fund Campaign. Event leadership responsibilities include executing high quality, memorable, and successful events designed to advance the mission of Villa Angela-St. Joseph (VASJ) through fund-raising and friend-raising.
Annual Fund
· Cultivate and solicit annual giving for the school.
· Assist the Director of Advancement with annual, as well as long-range goals and objectives for the Annual Fund.
· Prepare solicitation materials, prospect lists, and reports as related to annual giving.
· Prepare and implement assigned annual fund appeals in support of the school.
· Utilize Raiser’s Edge database to track visits, produce contact notes, and conduct follow up, following moves management structure.
· Acknowledge receipt of Annual Fund gifts from donors.
· Communicate with prospects through direct calls, shaping conversations and support to donors and potential donors for successful fund raising and donor relationships.
· Analyze results of the Annual Fund by tracking progress from month to month and
generate reports and statistics for semi-monthly Finance Committee meetings.
· Attend and actively participate in weekly Advancement department meetings.
· Contribute content related to the Annual Fund to school publications and social media, as needed.
· Establish and maintain permanent, thorough, and orderly records.
· Represent VASJ, when required, at school and non-school events.
Event Coordination
· Successfully manage and execute a variety of events designed to engage the VASJ campus and community to promote the school, funds, and increase relationships with alumni, families, and donors.
· Develop and execute all details of advancement events throughout the year, to include but not limited to promotional materials and marketing, event logistics, securing appropriate space, securing refreshments, taking reservations, supporting event workers and supporting event attendees.
· Recruit, engage, and support a team of volunteers for planning, hosting, executing events, and post-event activities.
· Create budgets for all events, make recommendations for resources to execute events.
· Manage, design, and execute all activities within the budget allotted for each event.
· Manage the secure and accurate financial transactions related to each event.
· Manage the secure and accurate event data and details, such as vendors, volunteers, supplies, budget, and outcome.
· Create post-event reports and recommendations for enhancement of events.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Familiarity of the teachings, traditions, and values of the Catholic Church, formation and Catholic Education. Enthusiasm to uphold those teachings, traditions, and values.
· Ability to strongly support the mission of Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School, and develop and sustain a commitment to the charisms of the Marianist and Ursuline sponsorships of the school.
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, marketing, nonprofit management, psychology, or relevant degree.
· Three to five years of experience managing advancement activities or experience in donor relations.
· Experience and proficiency in donor database analysis and report creation. Experience in Raiser’s Edge a plus.
· Experience with event and program development, recruitment, and implementation.
· Excellent communication skills. Expertise and experience in social media and marketing events and opportunities for engagement.
· Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated success in all stages of event planning.
· Ability to manage multiple activities in different stages of progress toward meeting deadlines and toward successful events.
· Ability to engage, lead, and motivate volunteers and donors toward repeated participation and outstanding volunteer experience.
· Expertise in responding to phone, email, text, video, and social media inquiries from internal and external sources related to the annual fund, events, and alumni activities.
· Present a high level of professionalism, poise, sensitivity, and support in a variety of situations with a variety of stakeholders.
· Ability to maintain accurate electronic and paper files toward successful events and programming.
· Must be able to cooperate with the variety and flexibility of times events are held.
· Reliable transportation for travel to local meetings and events.
