PASTORAL ASSISTANT FOR FAITH FORMATION
ST. MARY OF THE VALLEY
Develops, implements and directs Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation Programs for preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school students and adults in the parish in accordance with Archdiocesan policies and procedures. Plans and coordinates large events and retreats; recruits, supervises and provides formation for volunteers. Works with Parochial Vicar to coordinate liturgy
This is a full-time position with benefits. Hours vary during the day, evenings and weekends depending on programs offered. Salary is in accordance with Archdiocesan guidelines. Applications accepted until May 16, 2025.

- Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in support of the collaboration between lay and ordained Ministers.
- A practicing faithful Catholic and active member of a parish in good standing with the Church.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience directing or coordinating faith formation programs in a parish.
- Minimum educational qualification: an undergraduate degree in Religious Education, Theology, Pastoral Studies, or Education, Sociology or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

- Available to work on evenings and weekends.
- Effective in verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and see projects through to the end with detailed thoroughness and excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
- Skilled in leading, motivating and collaborating with volunteers, including recruiting new volunteers.
- Able to adapt well to evolving environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel and Outlook)
- Technical skills needed for multimedia presentations and for producing the necessary printed materials and curriculum support materials required for the formation programs.
- Bonus points if you’re bilingual in English and Spanish.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
