Position Summary:
Visitation is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 2nd Grade Teacher who is committed to academic excellence and rooted in the Catholic faith. The ideal candidate will foster spiritual, academic, emotional, and social growth in students while creating a nurturing, Christ-centered classroom environment. As a key member of our faculty, you will help students deepen their relationship with God and prepare to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in all core subjects including Religion, Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies
- Integrate Catholic teachings and Gospel values into daily instruction and classroom culture
- Prepare students for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in collaboration with the parish and school community
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that supports student growth and self-discipline
- Foster respectful communication and collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular updates to parents
- Participate actively in school Masses, prayer services, religious celebrations, and professional development
- Support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Church and the school
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Current teaching certification (State and/or Archdiocese requirements)
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church (required for teaching Religion)
- Knowledge of and commitment to Catholic theology and tradition
- Prior experience teaching in a Catholic or faith-based school preferred
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Passion for nurturing the spiritual and academic development of young children
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of background check and VIRTUS (Protecting God’s Children) training
- Participation in ongoing faith formation and professional learning
