Christ the King in Denver is looking for an on-mission disciple to serve as the Parish Operations Manager for our parish and school. This person will be someone who is organized, efficient, able to delegate well, and coordinate people and projects simultaneously without being overwhelmed. This person can communicate succinctly and effectively to various audiences to drive work forward, navigate conflict, and negotiate through difficult conversations. Strong experience with business operations, people management, communicating to key stakeholders, and organizing various priorities will be critical for this person. In this role, you will play a vital role in assisting the pastor to drive forward the mission of the parish in rescuing souls for the glory of the Father, particularly ensuring the parish operations run smoothly, ensuring the pastor is able to maintain proper governance of the parish while empowering him to revitalizing his priestly calling and lead the ongoing discernment and leadership of God's vision for the parish. This exciting role will work directly with the Pastor and his leadership team to support the parish in renewing its mission in an apostolic age.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Oversight
- Collaborate closely with the pastor and leadership team to drive the strategic planning process, focusing on apostolic leadership.
- In collaboration with the Mission Support Center (MSC) Team, serve as the steward of the parish's daily financial transactions and ensure fiscal responsibilities align with the mission, including annual budgeting and attendance at Finance Committee meetings
- Assist pastor with leadership/management of parish staff and volunteers asks and maintaining a harmonious work environment (HR tasks and guidance from MSC Team).
- Mediate conflicts between parishioners, volunteers, and parish staff (as appropriate in line with the pastor's leadership)
- Coordinate key projects, always with the aim of furthering the parish's evangelical mission.
- Review of and communication to pastor and parish staff of Pastoral Handbook changes (not applying to work of MSC team).
Coordination:
- Act as the primary liaison for the MSC Team, pastor’s assistant and sacristan fostering communication and unity in service.
- Coordinate the logistics of parish operations, from inventory to volunteer engagement, in support of the liturgical and evangelical mission (e.g. oversight of parish calendar, coordinating parish Finance and Pastoral council meetings, offertory collection, etc).
- Ensure parish and school employee and volunteer compliance with safe environment policies, protecting the integrity of the parish's mission and those it serves.
- Maintain relationships with banking and external partners, ensuring they are engaged in the parish's vision.
- Oversee the distribution of parish communications, centralizing the message of evangelization (working with MSC Marketing and Communication Specialist for design, strategy, and creation of content).
- Coordination of larger parish projects (e.g. building and real estate projects, EUI compliance, etc) and clear, precise communication to pastor and necessary parties for oversight, decision making, and progress awareness
- Work as a liaison with maintenance staff and vendors on necessary building work, negotiating contracts, and maintenance requests
Administration:
- Administer risk management and financial processes, safeguarding the parish's assets and mission (e.g. Risk Management Trust annual survey, ensuring paper checks are printed and mailed, as required, ensuring time cards for payroll are approved, efficiently processing off-cycle ACH payments for employees, processing year-end tax letters and thank you notes to donors, ensuring collection counting happens properly, -
- Recording and distribution of minutes for parish councils (see above)
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years working experience with increasing responsibilities and supervisory experience
- Associates degree necessary, Bachelor's degree a plus
- Work experience within non-profit organization a plus
- Volunteer management experience preferred
- Experience supporting executive leadership strongly preferred

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and a generally sound understanding of how to navigate other information systems - Strong time management skills
