Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Reports to: Practice Development Manager of Urgent Care
Job Summary: The Radiologic Technologist will operate computerized and manual radiological equipment for diagnostic purposes. Also provides administrative/front desk tasks when not performing Radiologic Technologist duties.
Sign on bonus of $5,000 for new hire, full-time x-ray techs!
Bonus will be paid if all the following criteria is met:
1. All onboarding documentation and training must be completed within 30 days of employment or the bonus is forfeited.
2. First 50% will be paid upon 6 months of full-time employment.
3. Remaining 50% will be paid upon 12 months of full-time employment.
4. If 12 months of employment is not met, bonus will be forfeited.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Protect patients, yourself, and staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards.
- Develop and process radiological film.
- Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by healthcare practitioner. Maintain a repeat rate of two percent or less.
- Manage quarterly state compliance logbooks and paperwork as required.
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Report immediately any equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- Log completed radiological procedures. Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
- Identify and file reports as required.
- Maintain X-ray room, stock necessary radiological supplies.
- Request, retrieve and track files to and from other departments or centers.
- Greet patient and visitors; direct all people to the appropriate location and services; be courteous, polite, and helpful to patient and visitors at all times.
- Respect and maintain privacy and dignity of patients; assure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide efficient and professional telephone services; take complete and accurate messages; inform callers if the wait is longer than expected.
- Register patients accurately and according to company protocols.
- Determine eligibility of patients for services provided by company; assist patients in accurately completing appropriate forms.
- Schedule appointments and tests for patients.
- Collect and post patient payments according to protocols; prepare and balance daily financial register.
- Maintain forms and office supplies required for front desk activities.
- Printing and scanning of patient charts and diagnostic reports.
- Inform medical staff of any urgent patient needs i.e., bleeding, pain, chest pain.
- Work with the medical staff to ensure all patients are treated in a timely manner.
- Inform patient when wait time will be longer than expected.
- Follow open and closing procedures.
- Assist the medical staff with any clerical needs i.e., photocopy, telephone calls, faxing, scanning, pre-certification of radiology testing.
- Follow cleaning policy i.e.: take out trash, sweep, mop, wipe and disinfect surface areas, including bathroom.
- Assist medical staff in filling out insurance forms.
- Handle all medical record requests in a timely manner and according to protocols.
- Handle correspondence.
- Perform other administrative duties as directed.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers and co-workers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist from an accredited, state-approved program (must be current in the state where employee is working)
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
- Current Basic Life Support Certificate
- Willingness to attend continuing medical education courses at the request of the employer.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
