Job Title: Family Success Network (FSN) Family Coach
Reports To: Family Success Network (FSN) Program Manager
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, full-time
Status: Exempt
Salary: $41,667 plus benefits per year
SUMMARY:
The Family Coach (FC) provides direct services to families including administration of screening tools, home visiting, parent education programs, resource management and referral, and family coaching. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.
This position is a Grant Funded position, guaranteed through June 2025 with plans of yearly extensions
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides short-term, intensive, in-home supportive case management services for up to 30 families enrolled in FSN services. Services include: family coaching, parent education, basic life skills, financial literacy, service referrals, and concrete supports
- FC utilizes Strength Based principles to help families outline goals for themselves, create space for behavioral change, and enhance protective factors.
- Attends required trainings to achieve and maintain certifications necessary to role.
- Collaborates with evaluation staff to facilitate and support the completion of the updated needs and resource assessment for the project and to adhere to evaluator guidance on evaluation/assessment administration.
- Responsible for ensuring data collected and documentation of services is consistent with rules and regulations and requirements of program evaluation;
- Actively engages with family and child serving systems, including attendance at community meetings, such as Family and Children First Council.
- Represents the OCTF at any required national and local trainings and meetings.
- Works as a team with other agency personnel.
- Adheres to the agency’s Code of Ethics.
- On occasion, hours of work may exceed normal business hours; ability to work non-traditional work hours including weekends and holidays.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required; as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work/counseling, or related field and or licensed social worker preferred but not required.
- Experience with Case Management, home visitation, and providing non-judgmental support to families.
- Experience providing peer support and culturally responsive services to families or children, including prevention or treatment related to child abuse and neglect;
- Has current training and/or credentials, or will receive training and/or credentials upon hiring, for the following programs: Triple P Positive Parenting, Motivational Interviewing, Financial Literacy, Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework, Ohio’s Practice Profiles, Ohio’s Keeping Children Safe; Trauma-Informed Care.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Excellent verbal and writing skills;
- Effective with computer software, proficient in Microsoft, experience with virtual platforms, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Demonstrated experience working within systems to remove barriers for families seeking services, as well as ability to arrange interagency meetings designed to coordinate services and ensure effective collaboration;
- Experience ensuring data collection and documentation is consistent with rules and regulations as prescribed by both applicable state and federal laws and policies.
- Willingness to attend further training as needed
- Familiarity with working in a Trauma Informed Environment
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License with good driving record, proof of insurance and reliable transportation.
