The Director of Parish Engagement's responsibility is to do just that - increase engagement within our parish! We want everyone, from our guests to our veteran parishioners, to encounter Christ, feel like they belong, discover their God-given talents and strengths, and put them into joyous use for the upbuilding of our parish and local community. The primary areas this would involve are hospitality, parish events, service and elderly ministries liaison, and community outreach.
Reports to: Pastoral Associate
Status: Salaried exempt, 40 hours per week, available for evening and weekend work

• Strong communication skills
• Able to work with all age groups, especially young families and elderly.
• Able to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines
• Comfortable with technology like MOffice, GSuite, Facebook, Skedda etc.
• Able to work seamlessly and joyfully with other staff members
• Able to manage yearly department budget and expenditures
Responsibilities
Hospitality
• Managing the hospitality team and hospitality closet
• Onboarding new parishioners
• Generate a "hospitality/guest-services" sub-culture
• Increase opportunity-awareness and parishioner stewardship (time, talent, treasure)
Events
• Coordinating various regular parish activities (ex. donut Sunday)
• Serving as liaison for various yearly parish events (ex. Fish Fry, Picnic)
• Coordinating semi-annual community outreach events
Service Ministries
• Serve as staff liaison for our service ministries (Bologna Alley, Habitat for Humanity, Hats for the Homeless, St. Vincent de Paul, Justice Ministry, etc)
Pastoral Care
• Create and coordinate the Sick and Elderly Care committee
(Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, elderly homes mass, bereavement meals, etc)]
• Make pastoral care appt with pastor for anointing of the sick, visits, or spiritual help
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
• Manage the stock of certain refreshments in the parish office
• Assists the Business Manager with cemetery needs when out of office
• Participates with weekly counting of weekend collection
• Reviews and signs checks for parish expenses
• Assists Director of Worship with funeral planning during their absence
• Other duties as assigned by Pastoral Associate or Pastor.
• Strong practicing Catholic in good standing
• Minimum of 5 years previous experience in same or similar positions.
• Preferred, bachelor's degree in a related field.
