Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 Salary/year
Duties and Responsibilities
The Development Director is a part-time to full-time position responsible for overseeing and managing development activities and increasing major gift fundraising capacity. This position advances strategic goals through a strengthened culture of philanthropy demonstrated by increased major giving, planned giving, annual giving, and large fundraising events. The Development Director will report to the Executive Director and work closely with members of the Leadership Team and the Board of Directors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Development Department Oversight
1. Oversee the management of agency development activities.
2. Prepare regular development reports and monitor results in relation to established major gifts goals and budget objectives.
3. Participate in annual planning, creation of the development plan, and evaluation of development activities.
4. Ensure that donor data information is properly coded and recorded; oversee assigned data entry personnel; ensure completion of data entry in absence of staffing support; oversee donor database results by setting and enforcing standards and controls.
5. Other duties, as assigned by the Executive Director.
Event Management
1. Serve as director/project manager for any agency related fundraising events.
2. Oversee the work of event related contract vendors and service providers.
3. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure event sponsorships, including individual, institutional, and corporate donors, as appropriate and necessary.
4. In collaboration with the Executive Director, set event goals and maximize event related revenue.
5. Follow-up with donor event attendees as appropriate.
Major Gifts Development
1. Support the Executive Director and Board of Directors in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to increase the agency’s support from major donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and other sources.
2. Cultivate, manage, and sustain relationships with current and prospective donors; coordinate the efforts of the Executive Director, Board of Directors, volunteers, and staff in the identification of potential major donors.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or other related field. Will consider years of experience equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree on case-by-case basis.
• At least 3 years of experience conducting major donor cultivation.
• Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in development and fundraising activities, especially major donor and sponsorship solicitation.
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Preference for knowledge of fundraising software or equivalent.
• Strong written and oral presentation skills.
• Strong commitment to Catholic Charities’ mission and identity essential; understanding of Catholic Church structures and social and pastoral activities preferred.
• Ability to articulate a compelling case for agency service philosophy and programs; ability to influence and persuade.
• Results-oriented, self-starter.
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality around financial information.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, motivate and work effectively with an Executive Director, board members, service staff, supporters, donors, and volunteers.
• A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to challenges.
• Willingness to work on occasional evenings or weekends

5. Possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and proof of vehicle insurance.
Additional Requirements:
1. Submit to employment required screenings including criminal background, drug screening and MVR.
2. Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment
3. Position requires adherence to diocesan and agency policies and procedures.
