We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team.
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining the school's financial records, ensuring accurate processing of
financial transactions, and supporting the overall financial health of the institution. The ideal candidate will
have strong accounting knowledge, proficiency with bookkeeping software including QuickBooks and FACTS, and a commitment to accuracy
and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the school, including accounts payable and
receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for school operations.
- Prepare and process payments, invoices, and receipts in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including budget variance analysis and year-end
financial statements.
- Work closely with the school administration to track and manage school expenditures and revenue,
including tuition payments and fundraising income.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Support the preparation for audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors as requested.
- Payroll processing, including employee timesheets and tax withholding.
- Utilize tuition management software (FACTS) to prepare family tuition agreements
- Ensure on-time tuition payment and collect past due tuition as needed
- Manage rentals of school property
- Perform other related duties as assigned by School Administration.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 2-3 years) in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in an educational or
nonprofit setting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the financial regulations and tax laws relevant to educational institutions is a plus.
Working Conditions
- Part-time paid position
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for special events or financial reporting
deadlines.
SALARY RANGE: $20,000 - $30,000
REPORTS TO: Head of School, Assistant Principal
