This is a fundraising position with an emphasis on a strategic partnership with the Director of Development. The Fundraising Associate will help oversee the day-to-day fundraising operations of the Development Office, with a particular emphasis on growing the diocesan annual appeal and strengthening donor stewardship.
The primary responsibilities of this position include the strategic planning, development and oversite of the South Jersey Catholic Ministries Appeal Campaign, supporting the major gifts program as well as the current Catholic Strong capital campaign and future capital campaigns. The Fundraising Associate will work closely with pastors, parish staff and volunteers.
Hours are 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (Monday through Friday) - Full-Time position
17 Paid Holidays, 2 weeks of Vacation, 2 Personal Days and 6 Sick Days
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop, create, and produce all mail and e-mail appeals
- Work with internal departments to meet deadlines for completion of direct mail projects
- Oversee production of materials for mailing
SJCMA CAMPAIGN
- Develop and implement annual campaign theme
- Determine yearly campaign and parish goals
- Oversee production of annual campaign video
- Oversee database reporting processes for each campaign year
- Assist Pastors in Major Gift Solicitations as needed
- Meet with parishes on a regular basis
- Assist with trainings and parish team building
- Encourage proper campaign implementation
- Speak at Mass times, when requested
- Oversee all campaign mailings, both solicitations and pledge reminders
- Oversee scheduling and production of Catholic Star Herald campaign ads
- Apply for United Way program participation
CATHOLIC STRONG CAMPAIGN
- Oversee production of reminder statements
- Assist with non-delinquency update mailings to donors
- Prepare collection period report for Finance
- Overall comprehensive back-up to the Director of Development
MAJOR GIFTS
- Assist Director of Development with Major Gift efforts
SOUTH JERSEY SCHOLARSHIP FUND
- Consultation to Director of Development and Events Manager
STEWARDSHIP
- Develop SJCMA Annual Report each year to update donors on ministry support
- Assist Director of Development with donor acknowledgement phone calls
- Oversee donor engagement mailings and communication (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.)
- Develop additional opportunities to communicate with donors
Education/ Experience
Bachelor’s degree; Three to five years fundraising experience
Experience With Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge Preferred.
Supervisory experience would be helpful.
