Saint Bernadette Catholic School, a parochial PreK-8th grade school, located in West Springfield, VA, is seeking qualified candidates for the Assistant Principal position for the 2025-2026 school year. The assistant principal collaborates with the pastor and principal to implement the school's mission and to foster community among faculty, staff, parents, and students. The assistant principal will collaborate with the principal in performing specific leadership responsibilities relevant to the successful administration of the school.

QUALIFICATIONS
*Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church;
*Deeply committed to the development of the faith life of the teachers and students and dedicated to the ministry of Catholic education;
*Minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience and demonstrated instructional leadership;
*Master's Degree in School Administration and Supervision from an accredited university approved by the Commonwealth of Virginia (or, with the superintendent's permission, completed within three years of being hired) and hold, or be eligible for, appropriate Virginia Administration and Supervision licensure.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Based on the needs of the school, the job responsibilities of the assistant principal will be established by the principal. Such duties include:
*Witnesses to the philosophy of Catholic education;
*Assists the principal in leading the team to form the hearts and minds of students, as they develop their God-given talents;
*Assists the principal with training, supervising, and evaluating faculty and staff;
*Enforces student Code of Conduct and oversees student discipline, which supports faculty and staff in building a respectful, positive school culture;
*Assists in determining and implementing school's mission and program goals;
*Consults with administration and follows a systematic, data-driven process of making decisions;
*Communicates effectively in speech and writing and interacts with students, parents, faculty, and the community in a manner that is professional and reflective of Catholic values;
*Assumes responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal;
*Performs other duties as assigned by the principal;
*Cooperates with administration and willingly complies with policies and guidelines of the Diocese of Arlington, the Office of Catholic Schools, and local schools.
