Position Summary
The Augustine Institute is an educational apostolate that faithfully hands on the Tradition of the Catholic Church through multi-media products and content. Over the years the Augustine Institute has become the leader in faithful, compelling, and beautiful faith-formation content and this role will be responsible for continuing and furthering that legacy through directing the apostolate's production (Studios) team. The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced filmmaker who can communicate the Catholic faith through compelling narratives and lead a production team through a multi-faceted agenda that helps Catholics understand, live, and share their faith.
The Executive Producer will oversee the planning, development, and execution of all video and audio production activities within the Augustine Institute, ensuring that projects align with our mission to help Catholics understand, live, and share their faith. This individual will be responsible for managing budgets, timelines, creative direction, and the overall success of projects. The Executive Producer will collaborate closely with various departments to deliver high-quality content that serves the Catholic Church.
Key Areas of Focus
Creative Direction
Responsible for guiding the Studios production efforts-video and audio-to craft compelling stories that communicate the Tradition of the Church for various audiences and faith-formation levels.
Facilitate through the creative process to craft excellent content in a format appropriate to the intended audience.
Define Studios production goals and mobilize the team to execute on them.
Keen eye for detail that ensures all projects stay true to their respective vision
Mission Alignment
Advocate for the Augustine Institute mission and vision in all production activities, ensuring that productions faithfully reflect and support the building up of the Church.
Production Output
Deliver content according to set plans, budgets, and dates.
Oversee a diverse production agenda that includes a) distance education class recording b) podcasts c) kids video series d) small-group formation studies e) feature documentaries and f) audio dramas and more.
Ensure that all content produced meets standards of excellence, fidelity, and relevance to target audience.
Team management
Lead and motivate a diverse Studios team that includes crew, actors, and writers across projects
Build the Studios team to support a growing production agenda
Develop team members and provide regular coaching and constructive feedback
Mobilize and inspire the team to effectively deliver content productions
Team leadership
Positively contribute to the overall apostolate direction and help align the Studios team to that direction
Ability to pivot and lead through unforeseen production circumstances
Exhibit and apply sound judgment by gathering appropriate data and information, seeking the input of others with varied different perspectives or experiences, and navigate to solutions.
Embrace a problem-solving mindset
Hold oneself and team members accountable to aligned commitments
Ability to effectively communicate with and influence the Studios team, senior level peers, and executive leadership.
Studios Representation
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about Studios productions for updates, promotional purposes, and partnerships.
Maintain relationships within the production industry that can support future projects and collaboration
Qualifications
Education: A degree in film production, media, communications, or related field
Mission: A strong understanding of the Catholic faith and support of the Augustine Institute's educational mission
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of production experience with at least 3 years in senior leadership or management
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experienced filmmaker and content creator who can craft compelling stories designed for particular audiences
Exceptional project management and organizational skills
Strong creative vision with an understanding of how to integrate within a mission organization
Strong understanding of filmmaking techniques, including camera work, lighting, sound design, and editing processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and external partners
Proven experience managing production budgets and schedules
Proficiency in production tools
Proven leadership abilities to motivate and inspire creative teams
