Position Description
Job Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk (Temporary position)
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Reporting Functions: Reports to Controller
Job Function: Assist with accounting functions with the Accounts Receivable manager to support the finance department within the Diocese. Completes special projects and other assignments, as directed.
Hours: 21-35 hours per week (3 - 5 days)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting and related support to Accounting Receivable Manager in the Finance Department
- Open and sort mail, pull out checks for Accounts Receivable Manager.
- Prepare, posts, verifies, and records checks from parish, schools, cemeteries, special learning centers, and other sites within the Diocese, related to Accounts Receivable.
- Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.
- Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
- Print and distribute disbursement checks.
- Research inquiries regarding paid and unpaid invoices.
- Filing, copying, scanning, and organizing.
- Proficient computer skills Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma, some college courses including accounting.

Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear both in person and by telephone; frequent use of equipment that includes repetitive motions and computer eye fatigue. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment; Temporary position.
- Normal workdays are Monday through Friday. Normal work hours are open for discussion between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm - total from 21-35 hours per week (3 - 5 days per week)
