Position Summary
Walsh University is seeking a faculty member to join and coordinate the successful and highly respected Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program. The successful candidate for this position will possess expertise in the content area and have current practical experience in the field. In addition, the candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills when relating to students in an online format and provide meaningful formative and summative feedback to students. The faculty member will interface with preceptors, serve as a role model, and maintain currency in practice. Position may be non-tenure track or tenure-track depending on candidate’s qualifications. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) or currently enrolled in a doctoral program, and must have certification and licensure as a FNP.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Oversight of clinical placement of FNP students
- Oversight and management of intensive workshops
- Online teaching and curriculum development
- Clinical oversight of FNP students
- Academic advising of graduate students
- Mentoring of students with DNP projects
- Active participation in scholarly activity and service to the school, university, and community
- Participation in CCNE accreditation
- Other duties as assigned or required

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:
Education: Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (PhD or DNP) or currently enrolled in a doctoral program.
Work Experience: Current FNP certification/licensure and current practice. Administrative experience in nursing education preferred. Online teaching experience is preferred but candidates with a strong background in the content area will be considered.

- Strong clinical background and proficiency of FNP skills
- Knowledge of educational processes including curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, and teaching strategies

- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.

- Performance of duties will include movement within a classroom for student instruction.
