Position Summary:
Our Lady of Refuge Catholic School is seeking to fill the position with a candidate that is a team player possessing flexibility and an unwavering commitment to students’ academic and spiritual development. The candidate fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by guiding, inspiring, and educating students in a loving, Christ-centered environment.
Part Time School Counselor will support the mission of the school and consistently exercise discretion and judgment in providing support for identified students.
Professional Responsibilities:
Listen to students’ concerns about academic, emotional or social problems
Help students process their problems and plan goals and action
Mediate conflict between students and teachers
Improve parent/teacher relationships
Organize peer counseling programs
Refer students to psychologists and other mental health resources
Professional Requirements (include but not limited to):
Master’s degree in counseling
Active state-level licensure and/or certification
Experience working in schools or with children is preferred but not required
