About Us:
Helping Hands Medical Missions has been serving impoverished communities around the world since 1997. Our mission is to provide quality healthcare to those in need while sharing the Catholic faith and forming mission participants in service and faith. We remain faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and operate under the guidance of the Legionaries of Christ and our Board of Directors. Our missions extend to Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Ghana, and the Philippines. We also strive to help develop new mission sites to bring Christ and medical care to the people that we serve.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Mission Director to oversee our medical missions. This individual will play a vital role in organizing and executing medical missions, ensuring the highest standards of care while integrating our faith-based approach. The Mission Director will report to the Board of Directors and the Legionaries of Christ.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and guide the medical aspects of all Helping Hands Medical Missions.
• Collaborate with mission teams to provide high-quality healthcare in underserved regions.
• Work closely with the Assistant/Secretary to promote Helping Hands and organize missions.
• Work closely with the Assistant/Secretary to coordinate mission logistics and administration.
• Recruit and help prepare volunteer medical professionals for mission trips.
• Ensure compliance with medical regulations and ethical standards in all mission activities.
• Assist in securing medical supplies, funding, and logistical support for missions.
• Represent Helping Hands Medical Missions in medical and faith-based communities.
• Work closely with the ground teams in the communities we serve.
• Cultivate and build benefactor relationships
Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with active medical credentials or NP, PA
• Experience in mission work, or serving underprivileged populations preferred.
• Strong commitment to the Catholic faith and alignment with the Magisterium of the Church.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, medical professionals, and volunteers.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
Time Commitment & Compensation:
• Part-time role with flexible hours, preferably in-person, though some work can be conducted remotely. Occasional travel required.
• Compensation to be discussed based on experience and availability.
