JOB DESCRIPTION

MAINTENANCE

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures

Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and electronically), both English and Spanish

Ability to work independently and with a group

Able to use MS Office Outlook, Word and Excel

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position

Maintain building and grounds

Coordinates outside contractors and vendors with Pastor and Business Manager

Plan and schedule semi-annual/annual inspections and certifications as necessary

Perform routine maintenance buildings, HVAC systems, fire safety systems and alarms

Perform maintenance work orders

Attends staff and diocesan meetings and seminars to maintain knowledge of safety and other requirements of the job

Performs other duties as requested by the Pastor or Business Manager

Maintains appropriate documents and records as required by federal, state and local regulations including all documentation and licensing necessary to lawfully operate equipment and facilities

Maintenance

Performs or coordinates vendors with repair and maintenance of facilities, including repairing woodwork; replacing electrical switches, fixtures, and motors; painting, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems; and replacing broken glass

Inspect building exterior and interior, and grounds; perform maintenance and minor repairs

Detect and report needed major repairs on building structures and their systems, including furniture and equipment

General/Safety

Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.

Maintain accurate, updated records of preventive maintenance

Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures

Help keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition

Work irregular hours as needed

Other

Strong organizational and follow through, remaining focused on tasks

Time management assertiveness to adjust to specific duties

Available to work flexible hours and weekends when needed
