Our Lady's Montessori School is seeking a dynamic "Renaissance Man" who has a passion for working with the adolescent age group in a project-based learning environment. This person will collaborate with administration to establish the new OLMS 6th-8th grade program during it's inaugural year.
Preferred applicants will possess a broad knowledge of Catholic liberal arts, a pioneering spirit, and the maturity to guide adolescent students in group and individualized learning.
Candidates should have a comfort level with both classroom academic instruction as well as outdoor, off-site, and hands-on learning experiences. Team building trips, micro-economy pursuits, service activities, and research projects are an integral part of the curriculum.
Montessori experience is not necessary; training and mentorship will be provided.
Familiarity with the following is a plus:
- Montessori philosophy
- Theology of the Body
- Student special needs
- Spanish and/or Latin language experience
- Background in the field of education
- Broad cultural and intellectual experience
All employees are expected to fully support the teachings of the Catholic Church. Applicants for this position should be able to convey the truths of the faith by word and deed throughout the day to their students. An appreciation for the global Church and a mission mindset are essential.
Elementary and high school teachers with experience in Montessori, traditional, classical, or home school settings encouraged to apply. Employment inquiries are also encouraged from seasoned professionals in various fields who have experience guiding this age group.
