CHURCH FACILITIES MANAGER BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Facilities Manager oversees all aspects of physical plant administration and maintenance and is responsible for the effective, efficient, and safe operation and upkeep of all parish buildings (Church, Parish Center, and Rectory), furnishings, and grounds. Specific responsibilities shown below.
STATUS/CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Parish Operations
JOB WORK SHIFTS: Job is full-time and the days and times to be worked with be mutually agreed with the Director of Parish Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintains contacts with and supervises work of all maintenance technicians, contractors, and volunteers. • Obtains bids and recommends contracts to business manager for suppliers and contractors. • Coordinates Hiring of all maintenance technicians. • Develops weekly schedule for maintenance technicians ensuring coverage weekdays and weekends when church activities are scheduled. • Oversees the contracts, ordering, and inventory of supplies. • Maintains facility inspection schedules; arranges and supervises inspections. • Performs routine maintenance work such as repairs, disposing of trash, etc.; oversees placement of parish furnishings; sets up for parish activities and events. • Manages facility/room scheduling and usage for all events, in coordination with staff and volunteers. • Develops and maintains facilities budget, in cooperation with the Director of Parish Operations. • Develops plan for future maintenance schedule and costs and oversees implementation of plan. • Maintains all facilities records including contracts, inspections, inventories. • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive church matters and personal information of members. • Maintains a Facilities Manual detailing relevant information for support and operation of the facilities. • Attends monthly staff meetings and is responsible for planning and facilitating meeting when assigned. • Perform scheduled building maintenance by applying knowledge of general carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanics. Strong commitment to the values, mission and ministry of St. Ladislas Parish, the Roman Catholic Church, and the Diocese of Cleveland. SKILLS: • Ability to apply and exercise good judgment and safety standards. • Possesses the ability to work well with limited supervision. • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks at one time. • Demonstrated skill in creating written communications for colleagues and staff regarding safety measures, newly installed systems, etc. • Must have working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, roofing, mechanics, and HVAC. • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record • Previous experience in this field desired.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: • Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent • Credentials in electrical and plumbing trades a plus • Must pass appropriate background checks.
