Description
Director of Music
St. Frances Cabrini Parish is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Music. We are a dynamic multi-generational parish of 3,200 registered families, located in the Archdiocese of Denver in suburban Littleton (unincorporated Jefferson County), southwest of Denver. The Mission Statement of the Parish is taken from the words of our Patron Saint, Frances Xavier Cabrini: “I will go anywhere and do anything to communicate the love of Jesus to those who do not know him or have forgotten Him.”
The Parish is home to a large 52-rank Rutz pipe organ, a Seiler grand piano, 5-octave Schulmerich handbells, digital piano, extensive musical library, a digital tablet-controlled sound system, and projection screens. The Director of Music will be essential to the development and implementation of a revitalized Sacred Music Program, through accompanists, cantors, vocalists, and choral members – including all aspects of traditional, contemporary, and worship musical styles. The Director will renew the adult choir, adult schola, small chorales, a family choir, and a youth Mass band, which recently have been limited due to extensive Sanctuary renovations that are nearly completed.
The Position
The Director of Music reports to the Pastoral Associate, Liturgy & Sacraments, and is accountable for all aspects of the Music Program, liturgical and event music planning, and budget management. The director is expected to make individual contributions as conductor, choral director, musician, pianist/organist, and vocalist. All musicians report to the Director, including organists, directors of choral ensembles, and instrumentalists. The Director will conduct performance reviews, annually with interim updates as necessary, for all paid musicians and has ultimate responsibility for all volunteers.
