Job Title: Thrift Store Delivery Driver

Job Summary:
SVdP is seeking a hardworking, self-motivated individual to join our team as a delivery driver. Ideal candidates possess excellent interpersonal skills as they will interact with donors and customers in a variety of settings and are able to handle tasks that often involve lifting, bending, and climbing.
Employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of a background check following an offer of employment in compliance with California’s Fair Chance Act.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate punctuality, flexibility, and a professional, customer-friendly demeanor when interacting with donors, recipients, and other stakeholders.
- Employ a diplomatic approach to effectively manage and deescalate potentially inflammatory situations that may arise during interactions with donors or recipients.
- Efficiently manage paperwork, including log sheets, to ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping.
- Evaluate donations objectively and communicate any deficiencies tactfully to donors, maintaining transparency and goodwill.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks, collaborating with the other members of the furniture team when necessary.
- Take responsibility for the daily inspection and maintenance of the assigned truck, ensuring cleanliness and optimal functioning for safe operation.
- Exercise sound judgment to mitigate any potential liabilities for the organization when delivering purchased items to customers' homes.
- Comfortably utilize phones, computers, and Google Suite applications including email and calendar to facilitate communication and scheduling with team members and customers.
- Perform various tasks within the store during downtime, including providing support on the furniture sales floor, assisting with donations, and undertaking other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall operations of the Thrift Store.
Experience:
- Professional driving experience: 1 years preferred
Requirements, Skills & License:
- Class C California driver’s license
- Proficient in English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
