Position Summary and Qualifications:
Under the general supervision to carry out such duties as assigned to perform preventive maintenance on Power Plant and related equipment.
This is a unionized position and subject to the University’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU (BJ32)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Â (include but are not limited to)
Essential Duties:
- Perform all duties and responsibilities required in the trade of Preventive Maintenance, following recognized procedures and techniques.
- Operate Power Plant and related equipment in the performance of duties.
- Maintain and operate HVAC equipment as required.
- Maintain equipment logs and work orders.
- Perform minor electrical repairs and replace small motors as needed.
- To make preventive maintenance rounds of campus buildings, inspecting equipment, and making minor adjustments and repairs to maintain proper environment conditions.
- To notify supervision of known malfunctions that would cause a failure of equipment service.
- Perform all classification related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Education/Training and Experience)
Required:
- Ability to think and act quickly in an emergency.
- Four years experience or training in maintenance and operation of Power Plant equipment. Some experience must have been in a plant of comparable size.
- Technical school graduate preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
