Supervisor III (Transportation) - Labor Grade 120 / Pay Range: $60,982.99 - $85,959.94
SUMMARY
The Supervisor III works under the supervision of the Supervisor IV. The Supervisor III is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the Road and Bridge department and ensuring the timely and quality completion of projects and assignments. This may include overseeing Supervisor I’s and II’s.
MAJOR DUTIES
· Responsible for responding to and documenting Parish resident requests/complaints and follow-up as needed
· Documentation of daily work entered into the Parish work order system
· Responsible for tasks associated with planning department work activities including supervising the acquisition of appropriate materials, assigning subordinates to tasks, and establishing work timelines
· Assists Director in planning department’s budgets
· Attends and presents at council meetings as needed
· Responsible for tasks associated with supervising and directing the daily activities of other employees including ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and operating correctly, ensuring employees perform in a safe and efficient manner, and regularly updating the Director(s) regarding department activities
· Responsible for tasks associated with communication and documentation including communicating with other supervisors and managers to ensure that tasks are not duplicated
· Responsible for ensuring equipment and supplies are available and completes necessary documentation associated with acquiring materials and managing subordinates
· Responsible for advising the Supervisor and/or Manager of employee work performance and any potential issues
· Responsible for providing timely and accurate feedback to supervised employees regarding performance and potential issues
· In emergency situations, may be required to work at various locations, including, but not limited to, the parish owned pumping stations, sand bagging locations, parish roads and other locations as assigned
· Any other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent and (5) years of related supervisory experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, or REGISTRATIONS
· The incumbent is required to have a current, and the ability to maintain, state of Louisiana driver’s license.
· The incumbent is subject to a pre-employment physical and drug test with random drug testing thereafter.
· The position is designated as an Emergency Essential Tier II position and as such is subject to mandatory recall to the traditional or emergency worksite. Failure to do so may lead to disciplinary actions up to and include termination of employment.
· The incumbent is required to maintain any certifications for assigned area.
