Permit Technician (Building) - Labor Grade 110 / Pay Range: $19.02 - $26.80
SUMMARY
The Permit Technician is responsible for issuing registrations or permits to qualified applicants. This position is also responsible for filing and scanning all paperwork that comes into the permit office.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Responsible for ensuring that applicants have completed the appropriate paperwork
- Responsible for denying incomplete/insufficient applications
- Responsible for assisting residents/contractors with questions or problems they have with their applications
- Responsible for gathering necessary information (name, address, age, etc.) of applicants
- Responsible for handling payments for registrations or permits
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, or REGISTRATIONS
· The incumbent is subject to a pre-employment physical and drug test with random drug testing thereafter.
- The incumbent has one year from the date of hire to obtain the Certified Permit Technician certification.
