Position Summary:
This position is responsible for training Pressley Ridge to Foster Parents and offering support through the licensing application process. This position will also be responsible for building relationships while identifying relatives for placement and/or connections, engaging the family to form a support network for the youth which enhances the safety and well-being of children in the foster care system.
The Family Engagement Coordinator builds positive relationships with Catholic Charities West Michigan (CCWM) foster parents in order to recruit diverse foster families for CCWM that align with the demographics of the children and families CCWM services. To be successful in this position, The Family Engagement Coordinator will need to exhibit strong customer service skills with an ability to be outgoing, energetic and passionate.

Annual Salary Range: $44,000.00 - $50,600.00

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in recruitment and retention activities.
- Trains Pressley Ridge and provides other training to foster parents.
- Works with supervision to develop annual training schedules and disseminate to licensing team and other local agencies.
- Completes a comprehensive relative search for foster youth in order to secure placement options and connections.
- Connects with biological families to complete comprehensive genograms within the first 15 days of case acceptance.
- Builds relationships with biological and foster/adoptive families to support safe and sustainable placements and connections for children in care.
- Provides advocacy for biological and foster/adoptive families to encourage strong support networks of children and families served by the agency through the Child Welfare Program.
- Locates, tracks, and assesses relatives, fictive kin, or other significant adults for foster youth.
- Assesses unlicensed relatives as needed and makes recommendations to the foster care team as appropriate.
- Collaborates with foster care and licensing teams to facilitate contact between relatives, fictive kin, other supportive adults and foster children.
- Coordinates services with foster care and adoption programs and staff.
- Attends supervision and staff meetings.
- Drives for Agency business.
- Performs other special assignments at supervisor’s request.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of computer systems and relevant software.
- Knowledge of, or experience in, a customer service oriented position.
- Ability to make appropriate assessments and recommendations.
- Ability to maintain records, and collect and evaluate client data.
- Ability to work with community organizations and use community resources to meet client needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to relate to diverse populations and cultures while communicating with clients and the public in a courteous and effective manner.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
Recommended Employment Qualifications:
Education:
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Human Services (or a related field) from a four‑year college or university.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of related experience in the Human Services field is preferred. Sales, Communication, and/or Marketing experience is preferred.
