St. Vincent de Paul - Night Custodian:
St. Vincent de Paul is looking for someone to fill the position of Night Custodian. The Night Custodian is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School and any other areas assigned by the Campus Facilities Manager. The Night Custodian is expected to be professional, courteous, and helpful. The selected candidate must demonstrate a commitment to safety, cleanliness, and order for the campus. The Night Custodian is expected to work Monday-Friday from 3-11PM.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
- Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
- Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical issues
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Good physical condition and strength; able to carry heavy objects up to 40 lbs and ascend stairs
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
- Speaks Spanish and English (Spanish preferred but not required)
- Respectful of and flexibility working around various groups that use the school in the evening
Reporting:
- The Night Custodian reports directly to the Campus Facilities Manager. He/she will also occasionally interact with the pastor, business manager and school principal.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Custodial

- Ensuring the school is well maintained

- Responsible for removal of all trash

- Mopping, dusting, sweeping, and cleaning of all rooms

- including but not limited to: shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs

- Cleans other areas as assigned by Campus Facilities Manager
- General Maintenance

- Maintain and monitor campus HVAC systems

- Identify and report necessary repairs to the Campus Facilities Manager

- Perform maintenance and minor repairs at the school as needed by the Campus Facilities Manager including but not limited to:

- broken switches, changing light bulbs, fixing door handles, minor leaks, furniture repair

- Report major damages to the Campus Facilities Manager

- Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting the alarm

- Periodically inspects campus facilities and equipment to prevent possible injuries to visitors or damage to property

- Secures school buildings to ensure proper building security

- Verifies that emergency equipment is maintained and repaired as need be
