Position: Onsite Temporary Camp Staff
Location: Monroe, WA
Duration: June 19, 2025, to August 8, 2025
GENERAL INTRODUCTION:
Each position employed with CYO Camps helps to extend the ministry of the Archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:
To assist in implementing the camp's challenge curriculum
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:
- At the beginning of the season and each challenge session inspects all equipment for usability
- Successfully completes our site-specific ACCT challenge training.
- Follows and enforces established safety criteria at the course.
- Manages the 3 challenge course specialists and Low Ropes course.
- Follows all policies and procedures for the course outlined in the course handbook.
- Ensures that courses and program are in line with the Standards out line by the American Camping Association
- Weekly practices emergency procedures including take down procedures.
- Can ground train additional staff.
- When not directly responsible for programming at their assigned program area helps out with lodge duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and organized camp environment, including, but not limited to performing regular cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring all facilities comply with health and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Primary:
- Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.
- A good example for youth in appearance, attitudes, as well as in moral, ethical and spiritual behavior.
- Facilitates safety of campers and staff
Education
- HS Diploma or significant qualifying experience
Experience:
- Low/High ropes experience
- Working with ropes
Other Elements:
- Commitment to the mission and values of CYO.
- Ability to work under pressure in time constraints.
- Must be able to lift/move course elements.
- Willingness to pitch in with other general camp duties when needed, like moving luggage, and cleaning areas other than the kitchen and dining hall.
- Current CPR/First Aid
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong communication skills, verbal.
- Ability to pass provided ACCT Challenge Training/First aid training course.
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and live on site in rustic facilities while programs are in session.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
