SUMMARY
St. Ignatius Catholic School and Chesterton Academy strive to employ an individual who feels God's call to work in a Catholic educational setting to help advance the Catholic mission of the school through fundraising, marketing, and communications. The Director of Advancement is the leader and supervisor of the St. Ignatius Catholic School Advancement Department and a member of the school Leadership Team. This position will report to the Headmaster. The Director of Advancement is responsible for the overall planning, management, coordination, and evaluation of fund development, marketing and communications, and public relations. In addition the Director of Advancement serves in a support role to school enrollment management. This is all in an effort to provide sufficient resources to ensure the school can achieve its mission of building thinkers, leaders, and intentional disciples of Jesus Christ.
St. Ignatius is a growing Catholic classical school with preschool through 12th grade. Grades 9-12 were added four years ago and are part of the Chesterton Schools Network. Our Families choose St. Ignatius for its joyfully Catholic culture, traditional morals, and classical model of intellectual formation. The Director of Advancement has a critical role in stewarding financial gifts and communicating our mission to help build and advance our school.
The Director of Advancement must be a practicing Catholic, willing to pledge an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium, and committed to serving as a joyful role model of all that is good, true, and beautiful within the St. Ignatius community. The Director of Advancement is expected to model behavior consistent with the St. Ignatius Catholic School mission, vision, and core values.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications and Marketing
> Responsible for overseeing, updating, and creating content for the school website and social media
> Responsible for annual updates and production of print collateral
> Support the production and review of our internal newsletter and event-based promotional fliers and materials
> Responsible for overseeing the setting and maintenance of brand standards for school communications, including, but not limited to:
o Print publications, including school newsletters, e-newsletters,
annual report, marketing materials, giving program brochures,
and direct mail pieces
o Electronic communications, including website and email
o Frequent interactive social media posts: Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter, etc.
o Media relations, including advertising and press releases in
local newspapers and local media coverage of school events
Fund Development
> Responsible for meeting an annual fundraising goal to support the general needs budget
> Responsible for the strategic planning and oversight, management, and implementation of all fundraising and friend-raising initiatives
> Plan, manage, and implement annual giving, major gifts, and events (including, but not limited to, prospect identification and research, cultivation, solicitation, gift processing, acknowledgments, and stewardship)
> Draft annual and special appeals to build individual giving base
> Assist with the growth of the endowment fund
> Work to create and support a culture of philanthropy in the greater parish and school community
Planning & Reporting
> Responsible for the planning, management, and implementation of all aspects of a comprehensive advancement plan (including, fundraising, enrollment, marketing, and alumni development initiatives)
> Strategize regarding and implement efforts to secure new and untapped financial resources
> Work to create and support a culture of philanthropy within the greater parish and school community
Enrollment Support
> Responsible for supporting the planning, marketing, and recruitment. This includes, but is not limited to, open houses, campus visits, tours, re-registration, literature creation, social media posts, etc.
> Plan, collect data, make projections, and report enrollment management data
> Work closely with key volunteers, coordinating the external and internal marketing efforts and initiatives that attract and retain students in sufficient numbers to support the programs of the school
Governance and Strategic Planning
> Promote understanding, acceptance, and support of the vision and mission statements, and objectives of the school
> Serve on the Leadership Team and help lead implementation of Advancement elements of the Strategic Plan
> Set priorities to meet annual goals
Constituent Relations
> Building relationships with the three parishes
> Actively communicate updates and needs related to fundraising to the Board of Trustees
> Work to build an alumni network
> Seek third-party recognitions, grants, special funding, etc.
Operations
> Database planning, including data acquisition and management
> Oversee staff/department in database management, as it relates to enrollment management, development, alumni, and marketing
> General office processes and procedures
> Other duties as assigned by the Headmaster
Team/Department Management
> Supervise and support the Advancement Department/Team
> Oversee each team member's annual review/performance evaluation, goals, etc. aligned with St. Ignatius HR policies, procedures, and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS
> Prior professional experience in marketing, communications, alumni, fundraising, and event planning
> Background in Catholic School environment preferred
> Prior to hire, must complete requirements from the Diocese of Green Bay Office of Safe Environment, including VIRTUS training and background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
> Work is typically performed on-site, in an inside, temperature-controlled environment
> Continuously requires vision, hearing, and communicating
> Frequently requires fine dexterity, prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
> Occasionally requires standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, bending, climbing, etc.
> Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
> Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
