Job Title: Women's Shelter Night Manager
Job Summary:
A Women's Shelter Night Manager is responsible for overseeing the night operations of the shelter, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, and providing support and assistance as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise night staff members
- Ensure all shelter residents are accounted for and safe
- Respond to any emergencies or incidents that may arise during the night
- Provide emotional support and resources to residents as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a women's shelter or similar environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
Requirements:
- Availability to work evening and overnight shifts
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Pass background check through Diocese Child and Youth Protection Office
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk around shelter outdoor and indoor areas up to one city block
- Ability to stay awake and alert during entire awake portion of shift
- Ability to wake up and be alert to alarms, knocks on office door, or to telephone calls during the sleep portion of shift
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with individuals experiencing trauma and crisis
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Knowledge of community resources for women in crisis
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a residential or shelter setting preferred
- Training in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention preferred
- Understanding of domestic violence and its impact on individuals
