Title: Food Service Aide
Reports to: Food Service Director and/or Kitchen Manager
Position Status: Part-time; 20 hours/week
Position Summary: The School Food Service Aide works under the immediate supervision of the Food Service Director (FSD)or Kitchen Manager (KM). The general duties and responsibilities of the Food Service Aide is to perform daily tasks in the preparation and serving of food and in cleaning and maintaining food service areas.
Essential Job Functions:
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Cooperate with the FSD or KM to provide a positive and inviting dining experience for students, parents, and faculty.
- Be responsible for food preparation by chopping, washing, cutting, assembling, sorting, counting and mixing ingredients/food items.
- Be responsible for the serving of food during the serving periods.
- Be responsible for cleaning equipment, storage, and work areas during the total work day.
- Be responsible for the proper storage of food.
- Be responsible for washing dishes and utensils.
- Operate mechanical kitchen equipment safely.
- Follow work schedules as assigned by the FSD or KM.
- Practice acceptable health and work habits.
- Participate in activities that will promote the school food service program.
- Participate in professional development training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The employee will work with frequent interruptions and must have the ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Employee will experience prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions.

Education/Experience
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the School Office (after employment offer is made)
- Valid Food Handler’s card
- Completion of food preparation classes, as required.
- Has fulfilled the requirements of all diocesan policies on suspected abuse of children.
