As a member of the advancement department of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland, the grants management specialist is responsible for managing and administering grants to support our mission of providing help, creating hope and serving all. We are looking for a highly organized and motivated individual with excellent administrative skills to help ensure seamless funding support for essential programs serving 400,000 people in need each year. Grants Management Specialist Job Responsibilities:
- Support senior grant specialists with the management, administration and documentation of grants that support health and human services programs serving 400,000 individuals each year across Northeast Ohio.
- Collaborate with various departments and teams to facilitate the smooth execution of grant agreements.
- Work with performance improvement to support compliance with grant requirements and regulations.
- Coordinate with finance department to monitor and track grant funding, expenses and reporting deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grant-related activities.
- Review grant proposals and budgets for accuracy and completeness.
- Support program teams with recurring government grants proposals and reports.
- Identify opportunities for new grants and funding sources.
- Stay current on industry trends and regulations related to grant management.
- Support staff in grant management procedures and best practices.
- Ensure timely submission of grant reports and deliverables.
- Identify and address any issues or challenges that may arise during the grant process.
- Uphold the values and mission of Catholic Charities in all grant management activities.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuously evaluate and improve grant management processes and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Working on-site (with WFH flexibility 1-2 days per week) in a typical office environment.
- Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Effectively managing stressful, fast-paced situations.
- Occasionally traveling throughout the Catholic Charities service area (Northeast Ohio). Must have valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable means of transportation for local travel.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, health sciences or finance.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in grants management or contract administration.
- Experience in social/human services and health fields preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of grants and foundation relations, including research, proposal development, budget development, familiarity with online applications, and administration and reporting of grants.
- Solid technical skills, with strong working knowledge of fund development software and databases.
- Proficient in contract negotiation and management, with experience in drafting grant agreements.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accurate records.
- Understanding of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services, Catholic Social Teaching, and mission of Catholic Charities.
- Must have valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable means of transportation for local travel.
- Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
