About This Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Engagement Manager to join our team. This forward-facing role is pivotal in developing and implementing strategies to engage and retain volunteers across Southwest Florida to ensure they have a rewarding experience. Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate Across Departments: Identify volunteer needs and opportunities, ensuring strong volunteer and community service components in all programs.
- Volunteer Engagement: Develop a customer service and recognition program to support, maintain, and thank volunteers, promoting longevity.
- Supervise & Develop Teams: Lead Engagement Coordinators, providing continuous encouragement and development.
- Employee Engagement: Assist in enhancing employee engagement through onboarding, recognition, training, and culture surveys.
- Communication & Training: Create and launch opportunities for volunteers and employees in collaboration with the Culture & Engagement team.
- Education & Orientation: Educate volunteers, community service clients, and employees on the value of their contributions through various methods.
- Innovative Internship Program: Implement a program that combines service learning with SMH initiatives.
- Community Connections: Build and support a volunteer program connecting faith community members, college students, and other groups with staff.
- Event Coordination: Partner with Events department for any volunteer needs to ensure a successful event.
- Travel: Visit various SMH locations to complete essential tasks and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum three years of team leadership.
- Proven experience in volunteer-focused programs, customer service, and/or employee engagement.
- Non-profit experience preferred.
Skills:
- Technologically proficient.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage diverse groups and manage multiple projects.
- Passion for SMH’s mission.
- Valid FL driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work non-standard hours as needed.
- Physical ability to handle, feel, reach, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
